Post 8 Revision - Post #9

There are many types of computers that the average human would not know about yet they are all in one way or another apart of their daily life. But the most important types of computer that nearly everyone uses or is familiar with are Desktops, Laptops, and Wearable Computers. All three are types of Personal Computers, PC for short, which primarily run the windows operating system, but there are other types which run different operating system, like Apple. Personal Computers are meant for personal use, and they can range in many ways. Such as some are made primarily for gaming use, and some for work-related use.
Desktops
Desktops is the most basic and recognizable form of computers, and the most frequently used. A desktop is a type of PC that isn't portable and is meant to be stationed at a fixed spot and used there. They are meant to have more power, and storage than other type of computers, and they tend to have standardized parts which cause it to have a lower price than other PC's, but they also have a bigger capacity for modification. Which makes it useful because it can do some things that other computers aren't able to. One type of desktop is the workstations, which are computers that are like desktops but are more powerful and has more memory and enhanced capabilities to perform a special task. Such tasks include game development, or scientific applications. They also can be used for visualization and manipulation. Another type of desktop are servers, which are computers that have been optimized to provide services to other computers over a network. To do so, they tend to have powerful processors, lots of memory and hard drive.
Laptops
Laptops are a type of PC that is meant to be portable and to be used wherever you find comfortable. That’s why they are popular among students because they have all the necessary things of PC, such as the mouse, keyboard, and screen all put into one portable object. They also come with rechargeable batteries so they can be used anytime you want. But the downsides of laptops is that they aren't as powerful as their brethren, the desktops, and have less storage capacity. But as technology advances, more opportunities might rise for the laptop. One alternative form of a laptop is the netbook, which is a ultra-portable computer that has far less capacities then a traditional laptop such as storage and power. But they are much lighter and cost far less then a laptop.
Wearable Computer
Wearable Computers are miniature electronic devices that are integrated into watches, cell phones, visors, and even clothing and is used for common computer applications such as email. And as technology advances, they have the potential to be the most widely used form of computers. But they lack the speed and power that other forms of computer have. One form of a wearable computer is the PDA, which is a personal digital assistant. They are tightly integrated computers that use flash memory instead of a hard drive storage which most PCs have. These computers don't have a keyboard or mouse, but rather rely on touchscreen technology for use input, which majority of wearable computers are based on.

Even though the possibilities of how a computer is used and how it affects us, there are only a few types of computers that really make a major impact and are heavily a part of our daily lives. The three most important types are desktops, laptops, and wearable computers.

Types of Computers-Post 8

There are many more types of computers that the average human would know about yet they are all in one way or another apart of their daily life. Even when using one type of compute, more types are also involved. In total they are 10 types of computers each having its own uses and limitations. And each made purposely for a specific use or preferable use.
Personal Computers
The most common type of computers is the PC, which stands for Personal Computer. PC's are meant for personal use and is a term used for any system that runs the windows operating system. Even though macs are technically PCs, they dont run the windows operating system. Depending on how you like to use a computer, PC's can range in many ways. Such as gaming computers for those who are gamers, or work computers that are used in offices and such.
Desktop
A desktop is a type of PC that isn't portable and is meant to be stationed at a fixed spot and used there. They are meant to have more power, and storage than other type of computers. They tend to have standardized parts which cause it to have a lower price than other PC's, and they also have a bigger capacity for modification.
Laptop
A Laptop is a type of PC that is meant to be portable and to be used whereever you find comfortable. They have all the necessary things of PC, such as the mouse, keyboard, and screen all put into one portable object. They also come with rechargeable batteries so they can be used anytime you want. But the downsides of laptops is that they aren't as powerful as their brethren, the desktops, and have less storage capacity. But as technology advances, more oppurtunies might rise for the laptop.
Netbook
A Netbook is a ultra-portable computer that is similar to a laptop but has far less capacities then a traditional laptop. Netbook tend to have less power and storage then laptops but are lighter and cost much less. Which make it perfect for schools because of its cost and size.\
PDA
Personal Digital Assistants, or PDAS, are tightly intergrated computers that use flash memory instead of a hard drive storage which most PCs have. These computers dont have a keyboard or mouse, but rather rely on touchscreen technology for user input. They tend to be extremely small, much smaller than a netbook.
WorkStation
Workstations are computers that are extremely similar to desktops, but is more powerful, and has more memory and enhanced capabilities to perform a special task. Such tasks are game development, or scientific applications. Also are used for any other task that require visualization and manipulation.
Server
A server is a computer that has been optimized to provide services to other computers over a network. They tend to have powerful processors, lots of memory and harddrive. Which makes it great to serve a network of computers.
Mainframe
Mainframes are powerful, and huge computers that are used by corporate or government organizations for critical applications, and rendering bulks of data. Such as the census that is taken by the government every ten years and other data that the government tracks of citizens.
SuperComputer
Supercomputers are computers that are built for processing capacity and the speed of calculation. They tend to be the most expensive out of all the types of computers and is used for intensive-calculation tasks, such as quantum physics and weather forecasting.
Wearable Computer
Wearable computers are miniature electronic devices that are intergrated into watches, cell phones, visors and even clothing and is used for common computer applications such as email. And has grown to be possibly the widely used form of computer.

Computers are more integrated into our daily life then most people believe. And some are used in ways that most people dont know about, but knowing what you want it for can be useful as they are plenty of ways that computers can be used to meet your personal needs.

7th Post- How to make chai(revision)

There are hundreds of ways tea leaves can be used, but the primary way it is used is by making tea. How that tea is prepared can range in many ways. One way is by adding milk or soy which turns the tea into a hot drink called Chai, mainly drank by South Asians. The way to make it is simple, and the ingredients are easy to get a hold of too. But if you aren't fully aware of the tea through the process then there will be difficulties.

Materials/Tools:
Make sure the following items are in your reach before we begin the process
  • Black Tea (½ tbsp per person)
  • Water(1/2 cup per person)
  • Milk/Soy(soy-1cup/milk- 1 ½ cup)
  • Cinnamon(1 piece)(optional)
  • Sugar(1-2 tbps)
  • Cloves(2-3 pieces)(optional)
  • Cardamom Pods(3-4 pieces)(optional)
  • Stove
  • Boiling pot
  • Strainer
  • Container(bowl,tea container,etc)
Process:
To begin the process, first you should put the amount of necessary water into your boiling pot for the amount of people you plan to serve. After that, you put the pot on the stove and turn the heat on maximum. Once the pot is on the stove, you can start adding the amount of tea leaves needed, then add your preferable amount of optional herbs, and sugar. Now you need to wait for the water to boil so the herbs can fully blend together.
Boiling:
When the water starts to boil, it's best to leave it boiling for a couple seconds, then proceed by adding either milk or soy depending on your taste. If you want the tea to be stronger, then put enough of milk or soy until its dark brown, and if you want the tea to be lighter then put milk or soy until the color of the tea becomes light brown. By adding either milk or soy during the boiling process, the tea cools down which requires you to heat it up again until it boils. This is the part where it is crucial to be paying attention to the tea. Once the milk/soy starts boiling, it has a tendency to overflow if your not paying attention. And once it does overflow, it leaves a tough stain that is difficult to take out.
As the milk/soy boils, leave it boiling until it is almost about to overflow and take it off the heat so the tea goes down. Then put the tea back on the heat and let it boil again and do this for about two times.
Cooling/Serving:
After you're done boiling the tea put a bowl(preferably metal) in front of you and strain the tea and herbs out of the hot liquid and throw it away. Once the herbs are out of the Chai, let the tea cool down since it will be really hot. Once its cooled down, serve into proper cups and enjoy your home made Chai, which can be eaten with crackers, biscuits, bread, and any of the sort.
Even though there are several ways tea can be made depending on how you want it. However if you want it hot, sweet, revitilizing, and beneficial to you, then theres nothing better than making a hot cup of Chai.

What is Success?-5th post

What is success? Is it obtaining a goal, or doing something that benefits everyone? Is it the ambition to cause pain or the determination to achieve love? Whatever it may be, success will always be personal. But what success isn't, is doing what you don't desire. By not doing what you desire, you are not being successful. Because how can you be successful if you aren't even doing what you want to do?
Dictionary.com defines success as “the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like.” Meaning success is the result of a person's determination, and their motivation. Because without motivation a person would not want to be successful, and with out determination a person would not be able to obtain success. By not being able to obtain success, a person would not be able to attain what they desire.
Most people equate success with money. But is that really being successful? Just because you may have more wealth doesn't mean you are successful. It may mean that to some, but not everyone who has obtained wealth believes that. Such as Steve Jobs, who said “Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful, that’s what matters to me.” Meaning that success should be measured in a way that matters to you personally, not what everyone says or believes because what you believe could be the opposite of what someone else believes. Also that you should do something that is meaningful to you or others but mainly to yourself. Even doing horrible acts can be called success to certain few, because that is what matters to them personally. The word success comes from the Latin root word successus, which simply means “the result or outcome, and the accomplishment of desired end.” Which is fairly similar but different in many ways from what the word means today. The word success has been altered throughout time to what it is generally meant today, the attainment of material things. Deepak Chopra once said that “Success is a journey, and it includes much more than material wealth which is only one component that makes this journey enjoyable”. Which means that obtaining material things isn't the only thing about being successful, but it is only a fraction of the joy success can bring you. And that to obtain success, it might take more time then anticipated but once that goal is reached then the joys are endless.
But what that journey is, is different for different individuals, because not everyone have the same goals.
Success can be both, good and bad. Good in the sense that what you do benefits the people and the environment around you, and bad in the sense that what you do harms you, or anything. But the journey that led to that desired end, that is what success is all about. Even though the consequence of peoples actions isn't always right, the way they reached that goal is. Because they put in the effort to reach their desired goal, even if their goal isn't what people would usually classify as success. It could be something that is straight up horrible, or it could be something that is more relatable to others. Basically meaning that it is the desired outcome of something attempted. The way to obtain success is by devoting your self, maybe your whole life, to what you desire. It is by dedication and hardwork can a person be successful. Otherwise it would be classified as being lucky in the sense that no effort was put in into becoming succesful and that whatever that occurred wasn't intentional. Because if it was intentional then it would classified as success, but since there was no desire in that outcome then what occurred wasn't what they wanted.
With that said, I wonder how success will be portrayed and in what ways will that success affect us and the things around us in the unknown future. But one thing is sure, the journey to become successful will always be the same.
